From Gdańsk to Oxford: talking blood–brain barriers and neuroinflammation

27.08.2026

In May, our research made its way to the University of Oxford, where Ola was invited by Prof. Mootaz Salman to visit his group and give a seminar on our work on oxysterol signalling in neuroinflammation and CNS repair.

The visit provided a great opportunity to exchange ideas on blood–brain barrier dysfunction, neuroinflammation and their contribution to neurological disease, and to explore the scientific questions where the expertise of our two groups intersects.

What started as a scientific visit has since grown into an exciting collaboration between Gdańsk and Oxford — with plenty more to come.
